Wrestler Spotlight: The Kubota Brothers - Technical Brilliance and Brotherly Bond

In the world of tag team wrestling, few allies exemplify the idea of teamwork like the Kubota Brothers, Hide and Yasu. They have carved their names in Japanese wrestling history as tag team specialists, currently holding the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Championship, and they also have a reign as NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Champions on their resumes. Members of the ZERO1 roster, the Kubota Brothers make frequent appearances in Yanagase Pro Wrestling (YPW) as well.

The Kubota Brothers have been a tag team for over 15 years, and have been close siblings for even longer, so they know each other better than anyone else does. And it's a fact that the Kubota Brothers are usually much more experienced as a team when compared to opponents that they step in the ring with, so they are able to easily keep a wrestler in the ring while they tag in and out to keep each other fresh, working on an opponent, both individually and when double-teaming them.

Veterans of the ring, the Kubota Brothers share their wisdom with others. Yasu Kubota gives wrestling classes at SPORTS BAR M's Cafe for Yanagase Pro Wrestling, and both he and Hide Kubota were main trainers of YPW wrestler Jack Kennedy, teaching him a variety of bumps and chain grappling maneuvers.

And the prestige of the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Championship should not be ignored. As a governing body, the NWA was not only impactful throughout wrestling history in America (especially in southern states like North Carolina), but also in Osaka and other parts of Japan as well. The championship was created in June 2001, during the period that ZERO1 was a member of the NWA. There are many very recognizable names that are a part of the lineage of the championship, including Samoa Joe, Masato Tanaka, Steve Corino, Heidenreich, Shinjiro Otani, and Nathan Jones.

The Kubota Brothers' presence in Yanagase Pro Wrestling adds star power to its cards, signaling to fans that it will be an event featuring great tag team action. Be sure to check them out the next time they are at a YPW event, either by watching the Kubota Brothers at SPORTS BAR M's Cafe, or via the TwitCasting livestreaming service.
