With the arrival of October, the media and live entertainment industries experience the most important operational period in the business calendar: Q4 (fourth quarter). This is the final three-month period of the calendar year (October, November, and December) where major entertainment networks including Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount see the holiday season driving peak advertising revenue, high streaming viewership, and indispensable end-of-year financial reporting. Meanwhile, for pro-wrestling companies, Q4 represents a time when a number of business operations intersect to establish foundations for this year and momentum for the year ahead.
WWE
As a pillar of TKO, WWE relies on Q4 to hit corporate milestones in several ways:
- The Media Rights Engine: The core of WWE's financial performance is broadcast rights revenue, which represents the company's largest and most reliable income source. WWE's landmark move of RAW to Netflix in 2025 and its overall multi-platform domination guarantees hundreds of millions in high-margin recurring income annually. TKO Group financial filings show that these escalated (100%+ increase) media rights and production fees regularly fuel a 20%+ year-over-year revenue surge for the WWE in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, this media framework transforms televised programming into highly profitable sponsorship infrastructure, providing a predictable corporate baseline that magnifies year-end profit margins.
- Wall Street and TKO Earnings Metrics: WWE's performance in Q4 significantly impacts TKO's stock. For instance, WWE generated $359.6 million in revenue just in Q4 of 2025- a 21% year-over-year jump driven by media rights and production revenue.
- The Massive Riyadh Season Site Fee: Q4 includes WWE’s highly lucrative partnership event in Riyadh, Crown Jewel. The Saudi Arabia-based General Entertainment Authority, on behalf of HE Turki Alalshikh, pays WWE an estimated $50 million to $55 million per event as part of Riyadh Season, an annual series of entertainment events held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. By being involved with Riyadh Season -which also supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030- WWE secures premium site fees and an exceptionally high-margin revenue stream. This partnership also guarantees localized government backing, ensuring maximum international exposure in the Middle East and a substantial increase in WWE's Q4 international live event revenue. In fact, these events are some of the most profitable individual dates in the history of sports entertainment.
- Big Events: Along with WWE Crown Jewel, the company's events calendar features Money in The Bank, Survivor Series: WarGames, and Wrestlepalooza during Q4.
In addition, WWE has its Holiday Live Tour during Q4, an annual house show circuit that runs from early December through the end of the year. The low-pressure environment gives talent the opportunity to hone their craft, practicing new moves and testing out new gimmicks without being seen by a live national/worldwide audience. And for the members of the WWE Universe in attendance, the tour provides a different, more intimate experience- with no commercial breaks and no television production, the focus is directly on the in-ring action and interaction between the WWE Superstars and the crowd. The atmosphere is fun and more laid-back for both the talent and the audience, while providing the company with a cash-flow bridge for live gate revenue.
AEW
AEW relies on Q4 in two primary ways:
- High-Density PPV Calendar: AEW loads the final months of the year with three annual PPV events- WrestleDream, Full Gear, and Worlds End.
- Talent Free-Agency Statuses: Historically, many talent contracts expire during Q4. This period is an opportunity for AEW to scoop up a number of wrestlers who become free agents, execute surprise debuts, build momentum for its fall/winter AEW-TV events (Fright Night, Blood & Guts, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving), and reshape its roster for the upcoming year.
NWA
As it continues to show that territories still matter today, the NWA's Q4 priorities are shaped by their taping model:
- Taping Blocks: Operating on a cost-efficient framework, the NWA's Q4 features tapings of more than one episode of NWA Powerrr per event, rather than the promotion touring weekly.
- Syndication and Digital Network Expansions: This has been a focus of the NWA under the leadership of Billy Corgan. It has expanded its footprint through syndication and streaming, rather than relying on traditional pay-per-view buy rates. Q4 is typically when organizations secure syndication renewals or expand holiday programming lineups.
TNA
TNA Wrestling relies on Q4 because it features their biggest event of the year and is their key talent negotiation window. For TNA, the final quarter of the year is when they look to make their biggest industry statements across three major pillars:
- Hosting Their Biggest Event of the Year: TNA's Q4 is anchored entirely by Bound for Glory, which is the company's biggest event of the year.
- Showcasing TV Value: TNA has seen a huge resurgence in 2026, moving TNA iMPACT! to AMC, an American cable television channel that is available in approximately 60 million U.S. pay-TV households. This deal is not only a significant financial boost as one of TNA's biggest TV agreements, but also provides potential TV exposure that it has not experienced in over a decade. Because the standard television broadcast calendar resets in autumn, Q4 ratings and active engagement are audited by network executives. TNA keeps the momentum going past October with TV tapings and Destination X.
- The End-of-Year Contract Business:: As mentioned earlier, many talent contracts expire during Q4. This period is TNA's key talent negotiation window, so the company renews many contracts and signs a lot of talent during this period. Also, TNA capitalizes on the attention that it receives from Bound for Glory to debut new additions to the roster or renew talent contracts that are set to expire on December 31st.
OVW
With pro-wrestling fan spending increasing during Q4, this period is an essential window for OVW to maximize local fan attendance and to capitalize on the seasonal theme of the quarter:
- Fall Events: Ticket sales are the priority for OVW, and the promotion focuses on maintaining a strong local following and sense of community, along with creating a must-see live event experience. OVW produces weekly episodes of OVW RISE, which are broadcast live on YouTube from the historic Hotpoint Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. These shows attract a loyal local audience.
- Holiday Themed Show: OVW's Q4 schedule includes Hell Night in October, which draws pro-wrestling fans who are in the Halloween spirit and is an opportunity to drive merchandise revenue.
UWN
Similar to the NWA, the UWN continues to show that territories still matter today, while their Q4 is based around their regional tapings and syndication of their shows:
- Tapings: Episodes of UWN Championship Wrestling are taped in blocks, including during Q4.
- Syndication and Streaming: UWN Championship Wrestling and UWN Gotham Wrestling are seen nationally via syndication and also on YouTube. Since traditional television ad spending spikes ahead of the holidays, maximizing viewership data during Q4 is vital for keeping their model profitable.
MLW
For MLW and its CEO Court Bauer, Q4 features a new broadcast pathway and a return to pay television monetization:
- Fall Television & Tubi: October is the first full month of MLW being at their new broadcast home. On September 17, MLW Fusion made its debut on Tubi, a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and several Latin American countries (Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama), with 110 million monthly active users.
- A Return to Pay-Per-View: For the first time in seven years, MLW will expand its monetization strategy during Q4 by returning to pay-per-view, when Saturday Night SuperFight streams live worldwide on Live Nation’s VEEPS in November, which pulls in more than 4.1 million monthly site visits and generates over 49 million monthly video views across its ecosystem. Saturday Night SuperFight will be MLW's biggest premium live event of 2026.
WOW - Women Of Wrestling
Under the leadership of Jeanie Buss and David McLane, WOW will spend Q4 preparing for an upcoming model shift from pre-taped syndicated episodes:
Live Broadcast Expansion Planning: During its fifth season, WOW will be broadcast live from L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, anchoring WOW’s marquee events as part of a broader live strategy. After WOW’s takeover of Las Vegas with "Fights At Fremont Street Experience" during its fourth season, this next move can become the foundation for a much bigger future, taking the company to a higher level. A focus for WOW during Q4 is working behind the scenes on development in preparation for its transition.
Whether it's reaching measurable financial achievements, utilizing a cost-effective approach, making a notable impression, focusing on the local community of fans, representing old-school territory-style, or preparing to go live for the first time, Q4 is the most impactful quarter in business.
